1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when creating or using an account. Candidate information may include name, email address, phone number, location, professional summary, work history, education, job preferences, saved jobs, applications, job-alert preferences, and an uploaded résumé. Employer information may include contact details, company information, job postings, team-member access, logos, and account activity.
When payments are enabled, payment details are processed by Stripe. Placed receives transaction status and limited payment records but does not store full card numbers. We may also collect basic technical information such as IP address, device/browser information, security events, and essential session data.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate accounts, display and manage job listings, connect candidates with employers, maintain saved jobs and application history, deliver requested job alerts and account emails, process payments, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.
3. When information is shared
Candidate information is shared with an employer when the candidate chooses to apply or otherwise directs Placed to share it. Employer job information is displayed publicly after approval. We may use service providers for hosting, authentication, file storage, payment processing, and email delivery. These providers receive only the information needed to perform their services. We do not sell personal information.
4. Résumés and uploaded files
Uploaded résumés and employer logos are stored using protected cloud storage. Résumés are not intended to be public. They may be made available to authorized employers in connection with an application or candidate-management feature.
5. Cookies and similar technology
Placed currently uses essential cookies and similar storage needed for sign-in, security, and account functionality. If optional analytics or advertising cookies are introduced, this policy and any required consent choices will be updated.
6. Email choices
Account and security messages may be necessary to operate the service. Candidates can change or disable job alerts from their dashboard. Marketing messages, if offered, will include an unsubscribe option.
7. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
You may update account information through your dashboard. You may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information by contacting us. Some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, transactions, disputes, or legal compliance.
9. Children and international users
Placed is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. Information may be processed in the United States. International users understand that data-protection laws may differ from those in their home country.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date will be revised, and material changes may be communicated through the website or account email.
