Some hospitality careers begin with a first job—and grow into a vision of your own. For Sway Coffee founder Sara O’Gureck, that journey started when she was 14 and discovered how much she enjoyed making people feel welcome.

She spent decades in the restaurant industry, learning the rhythm of service and the details that make an experience memorable. Later, she brought that experience into coffee, working in sales for a New York City coffee brand for more than 15 years.

Those chapters came together in Sway Coffee. Sara founded the business to bring a premium, café-quality coffee experience—paired with warm, professional hospitality and thoughtful design—to corporate events across New York City and Northern New Jersey.

Experience became the foundation

Sway serves board meetings, conferences, product launches, and client appreciation events. Its baristas combine the craft of espresso with the care of personal service, while the team works with each client to shape an experience around the occasion.

It is a thoughtful next step for someone who spent years learning both the hospitality and coffee sides of the business. Sara’s story is a reminder that skills built one role at a time can lead somewhere entirely your own.

Make every step count

For anyone building a hospitality career, there is value in staying curious, learning the details of your craft, and noticing what guests respond to. Experience in one part of the industry can become the starting point for something new.

Today, Sway Coffee brings that idea to life one event—and one cup—at a time.
